 If you have residual scars from acne, we can offer treatments that can reduce the appearance of these scars. We also have had success with stretch marks and residual scars from trauma or cutting of the skin. Our treatments can target discoloration and eventually fade the brown, red or purple color. In addition if you have scars that apprear as dents in the skin, our light treatments can build volume under the scar to "lift" the area and reduce the appearance of the scar.
Colored scars, acne and stretch marks can be treated with our Light Therapies. Usually the treatment involves several devices in combination. Often we will use IPL and Laser Genesis for brown or red scars. Acne scars respond well to Laser Genesis and Smoothbeam. To minimize the scar, a series of at least 4 treatments are required and often up to 8 treatments are required.

Cost: The price for scar treatment is quite variable. It depends on the type, depth and surface area of the scar. Prices can range from $75 and more for a single treatment (4 or more will be required to achieve an improvement).

What do the treatments do?
|
|
We have Intense Pulsed Light treatments that reduce and remove brown and red pigmentation that are the result of aging and exposure to sun. This will also improve uneven color and texture.
When the client has mostly a problem with redness (ie Rosacea) we often use a combination of Lasers and Intense Pulsed Light.
When smaller specific areas need improvement, we can apply the laser or light to improve fine wrinkles, red & brown scars, and pores.

How do I know what type of light or laser device I will need?

It is difficult to know exactly what treatment is best for your skin until we have the opportunity to meet with you. Some problems can be approached in different ways. Factors such as safety, comfort, and cost are often different for each individual client. It is important that we do a comprehensive evaluation to determine what problems you have, and how we can improve your skin. Our consultations are complimentary.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments depends on your situation and what treatment modality is recommended. Typically we design a package of treatments (often different modalities) that will address the problem we are trying to correct. Our recommendations may include an occasional touch-up treatment to maintain the improvements you achieve.

What are the side effects?
|

Usually there are none. However with any light treatment, occasionally there can be mild effects such as swelling, redness, color change. Often we recommend a patch test to minimize these possibilities. During your consultation the physician will review your medical situation and monitor any issues that arise during treatments.

When will I see results?
|
|
Most patients will see significant results within 2 or 3 weeks. However the maximum improvement may not be seen for a month after your final treatment.
